How does it work? The strip operation - The stepsMaj littel särtsh-båx
Step by step
The head, or part of it, is shaved to minimise the risk of infection. If we have agreed not to shave, only the strip of skin at the back of Your head, where the actual surgery will be performed, is shaven. In the latter case, the hair above the donor-area will be parted and fixed, so it can cover the incision-line, when the operation is finished. We insert a cannula into a superficial vessel on Your arm. We then administer the necessary medications intravenously as required. The effect is immediate. Thus when the local anestethics are administrated You will feel calm. We are extracting a strip of skin from the back of Your head. You are drowsy, and do not feel any pain. The effect of this sedation gradually fades within an hour, and by that time, the surgeon has closed the wound in a most discrete way. The sutures can in most cases be removed after 7 days. The meticulous job, to seperate the skin strip into numerous grafts, is now in full swing. But You will have a break and we will serve You Step 5. Cleaning and protection All the implants are now complete, and the area is cleaned. A smooth, non-sticking and absorbing coverage is provided, held firmly in position by bandages. This will protect the scalp over the following night. Read more - FUE operation! |
