The surgery
If you have a long way of traveling, it might be nice to come here the night before your hair transplantation
We wake you up at 6:30 (if you have arrived the day before) so you have time to eat breakfast in peace and quiet and take your morning medicine. You should also shower and wash your hair before hair transplantation.
If you come directly from home you should have a shower and washed your hair before. If you did not had time to eat something, you get breakfast here. Avoid coffee, tea and Coke before your hair transplant. On the bed lies the green clothing you should wear. You can wear underwear, socks and shoes for you. Also, take off all your jewelry. There is saftey box in every room.
About 7:20 o’clock, you will be enrolled and photographed. Payment of the surgery also takes place unless you have done this before through our bank.
Hair transplantation is planned in detail
You will now meet the surgeon who will perform your hair transplantation. Together you will discuss how to make the best choice for you and your hair transplant. In most cases, you’ve met us or one of our representatives for a consultation, where you have planned how to do the surgery. This may change, for various reasons, for example, it has perhaps been a long time since you met us and in the meantime have you lost more hair, or have you changed your mind for some reason. We may conclude that you need a larger or even smaller than hair transplantation as determined at the consultation. This is usually not a problem.
Your surgeon makes a small physical examination, listening to the heart and lungs, check blood pressure and feel of your thyroid. Your hair is no shaved fully or partially, depending on what you decided in advance, for best results. Sometimes it has been agreed not to shave any hair on the crown.
You will have a calming, relaxing medication, midazolam (a relative of Valium) into a vein. Then the surgeon puts local anestetic in the back of your head. If you do a hair transplantation with Strip-method, we reserve the planned skin strip, and sew up the wound. Do you have a hair transplantation with the FUE-method, we collect the hair follicles that we planned in advance.
The second part of the surgery you lie down and then you’ve got so much midazolam so you can sleep. We make small incisions (the small holes where hair should be put down) and then we put down all the grafts in the marked areas and cover your head with a bandage. You will then get something to eat in the kitchen, then you may want to sleep, watch TV or read a book in your room.
Staff at night
If you can not sleep any more and want to go up its ok, just remember not to rush out of bed, sit for a little while on the bed before you get up. The same goes for the bathroom, sit down when you urinate (even men!) Dont lock the door. All this to prevent a fall in blood pressure so you do not faint. The staff will be all night on New Hair Clinic.
You may have trouble sleeping when you slept most of the day. Tell the night staff to get sleeping pills. The surgery does not hurt, but it can be a little tight in the neck and sometimes sting a bit at the crown. Do you need painkillers, just tell the night staff.
Time for a trip home one or two nights after the hair transplantation
In the morning the day after surgery, we will give you breakfast and morning medication to you in the room. Then you serve yourself and eat whatever and whenever you want.
We remove your bandage and half of the stitches (sutures only at strip surgery). We also review your journal and you will receive instructions on how to care for your aftercare. You can now go home, but you are of course welcome to stay another day if you so desire.
Before you go home, we have carefully examined both the wound in the neck and the grafted surfaces. If traveling by plane or train, you may want to talk to us before you book the ticket, in some cases, patients should stay two nights after hair transplantation.
